Having grown steadily over the past few years and with expectations for even greater growth ahead, CDCNC is bursting at the seams. CDCNC currently occupies three buildings in three separate locations. CDCNC’s primary facility is located at2020 East 12th Street. Due to the increased enrollment CDCNC has outgrown this building and has opened an additional facility inNorth Casperwhich serves approximately 50 children ages 3-5. CDCNC also rents a building on the Life Steps Campus for the Infant Outreach Program.

The Child Development Center of Natrona County screens approximately 900 children annually.  Referrals are made by local physicians, public health nurses, area Preschools, childcare providers, the Department of Family Services, other community agencies, parents  andguardians. The purpose of a screening is to determine if the suspicion of eligibility/delay is warranted before proceeding further to formal assessment activities.

Children deemed eligible to receive early intervention services based upon test results,  parent input, observations, and state and federal regulations governing developmental preschools, receive individualized program services developed with the child's parents, preschool  and evaluation staff, and others who know the child's needs. Children birth through age 2 are placed on an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and receive services in their natural setting which may be the child's home, child care, a library or play group, etc.. Children ages 3 through 5 are placed on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and receive services in the least restrictive environment, most often an educational setting.

The Child Development Center of Natrona County also provides preschool services to children 3 through 5 years of age. The preschool offers a play-based curriculum which promotes kindergarten readiness in accordance with the Wyoming State Early Childhood Readiness Standards. A minimal fee based on a sliding scale may be charged for preschools services. Scholarships for tuition are also available to families.

In compliance with Federal and State mandates, no fees may be charged to parents for special education services.
